The Comic Cons Research Project team is pleased to announce that our new article, “Theorizing Comic Cons,” is available open-access in The Journal of Fandom Studies. The article presents some of the results of our 2017 Cultural Mapping Survey and proposes a three-part definition of a con event as an organizational and cultural form.
The article is part of a special issue edited by Ian Lamond and Karl Spracklen. The Comic Cons Research Project is supported by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada. Photo CC-BY Eric Frierson.
