Aseel Qazzaz is a Master’s student in the Communication and Media Studies program at Carleton University and a RoCCET Lab fellow. Her MA thesis, “‘Racially Charged’: Scripting the Black Superheroic Body in Black Lightning,” examines the representations of Black superheroes in comic book television adaptations. Some of her research interests include comics studies, race and media, fan studies, and industry studies.
