During the pandemic lockdowns when there were no actual conventions to visit and research, RoCCET Lab researchers began building an archive of the policy statements available on convention websites. The resulting archive of codes of conduct and policies related to children and minors, costuming and prop weapons, firearms/non-prop weapons, guest relations, harassment and assault, and intellectual property can help us understand how convention organizations attempt to structure how conventions as spaces and to address various “problems” that arise.
